I wanted more dialogue between the two of them. They spent more time having sex than talking. There is quite a bit of sex and it was getting to be a bit too much for me. I mean Grissom was only in the driveway a few minutes before he made a pass at Johnny and with Johnny never having any kind of experience with another man, seemed a bit off to me.Īt 50% through the book, I had to stop reading for a bit. He’s never even kissed another man, let alone had sex but he jumps into a relationship with the sexy sheriff just like that! *snaps fingers* Their coming together was a bit fast in my opinion. Now, Johnny has been hiding for over 20 years. Grissom wants Johnny and makes that clear within a matter of minutes. The sheriff is a bit pushy and alpha which gets to Johnny more than he would like to admit.

Johnny is in a panic and the sheriff suggests he buys a guard dog. On his first day in his new house, Sheriff Grissom stops by to check out the new resident and to tell him to watch out due to a prisoner escaping the prison 45 minutes from Johnny’s new home. He quits the band and buys a beautiful farm-house in West Virginia, hoping there, he can start his life over again. Johnny Rayne – music star for the band Storm has decided to get out of the business, so he can try to live a more normal life. It has been substantially revised and re-edited for this release. Note : This novel was previously published. And three: Johnny’s definitely going to enjoy every moment of it. Two: Johnny’s definitely attracted to Grissom.

One: Johnny’s definitely attracted to men. The two men clash continually, and Johnny resists succumbing to the sheriff’s brash charm until Grissom forces him to admit some very basic truths. The sheriff challenges Johnny in a multitude of ways - with overt machismo, disdain for Johnny’s musician past, and all-around know-it-all-ness. Moving to a farm in West Virginia, Johnny runs smack into Sheriff Virgil Grissom his first morning in the mountains.

He wants something more - something very different. Johnny Rayne has had enough - enough of being at the top of the rock music industry for the last decade, enough of constant touring and recording.
